Hi there, I'm Lucy and I'm running for 1st team captain! I started playing football at the ripe old age of 6 and have loved it ever since. I've played on various teams and I have always contributed to a healthy group mentality! Football is so unique in it's potential to balance skill, fitness and social life and I firmly believe that promoting all of those qualities in a team can make for the experience of a lifetime, and friends you can always count on because let's face it, us football girls are a different breed. So although you can rely on seeing me on the field, make no mistake, I will be seen just as much at socials and at the pub having a chat with everyone, if you're lucky you might even see me on the d-floor (if clubs ever open up again).
Having said that, I'm always an advocate for the highest standard of sportsmanship amongst my team members. That includes fair play and being able to rely on each other on and off the field, but most importantly in this context, sportsmanship lies in the role of the team captain being able to support the rest of the players and create a space for contribution from everyone.
Having played in various positions including centre and left back as well as floating around in the midfield, I feel like I have the experience and personality to lead a team by encouraging everyone to find the best and most bad-a$$ football player they have inside of them.
Pre-game hype music mandatory xx

Hey Guys,
I am one of the current seconds captains and in my second year at UCL.
Although this year hasn’t been what we wished for I really enjoyed being part of the club and a member of committee.
In our first couple of weeks I had lots of fun getting the team together for our friendly tournament with RUMS. My team captains helped me a lot to feel welcome in my first year and I had many ideas for the team this year in order to ensure the same thing for the new first years. I did not get to fulfil these ideas due to the lockdown and therefore would like to run again as captain next year in order to create an awesome team and make sure it grows together with the new and old members. I also want to help to create a fun and competitive environment with the team.
I think doing team dinners and socials if they are possible again could be a great part of that process as they were a lot of fun in my first year. Otherwise online team meetings and at home football challenges could keep the motivation up.
I think I make quite a good captain because I am very reliable: I attended almost every game and training (and social ☺) in my time here and am ready to put a lot of time and effort into the team even despite of uni work.
I would also say I am a person who gets along with most people, works well in a team and I am always open for help and input of others.
