Hi everyone! I’m Giulia, and I’d like to become a first team captain. Even though this year didn’t go exactly like anyone wanted it to, I’ve really enjoyed all the socials and the effort that the committee went to to welcome all the new members of the club, and I’d love to become more involved with the club and try to do the same for new members next year. I think I’d be a good fit for the role of team captain because I’ve loved playing football for as long as I can remember, so I’d like to be part of the process of organising matches and tournaments, and, of course, of beating everyone on the field! I was captain of my school team last year and really enjoyed it, so I’d be happy to hold that position again!

Football has been a major part of my life for over 10 years. Although I enjoy the competitiveness and (obviously!) winning, what really makes me love playing is knowing I am part of a team. I have played for various clubs, and the one that was by far the most successful was the one which was most fun. We trained hard, but also went out together after games. We could laugh at our mistakes while also taking constructive criticism each other. I think this is one of the most important qualities a team can have, as you end up playing for one another, supporting your teammates both on and off the pitch. This is the atmosphere I would encourage if I were team captain. I would also try my best to make my team feel like they could have a chat about any issues they may be having - football related or other.
As a captain, understanding the responsibilities of different positions is crucial, as tactical advice will change based on an individual's role. I have played in numerous positions before, and so I have first-hand experience in the variety of challenges each player faces in game situations. I would try to lead the team through a balance of my own experience of playing for many years, but also through carefully considering the opinions of my fellow teammates, and would always be open others input on tactical approaches to our games.
I look forward with playing with you all soon!

Hi there, I'm Lucy and I'm running for 1st team captain! I started playing football at the ripe old age of 6 and have loved it ever since. I've played on various teams and I have always contributed to a healthy group mentality! Football is so unique in it's potential to balance skill, fitness and social life and I firmly believe that promoting all of those qualities in a team can make for the experience of a lifetime, and friends you can always count on because let's face it, us football girls are a different breed. So although you can rely on seeing me on the field, make no mistake, I will be seen just as much at socials and at the pub having a chat with everyone, if you're lucky you might even see me on the d-floor (if clubs ever open up again).
Having said that, I'm always an advocate for the highest standard of sportsmanship amongst my team members. That includes fair play and being able to rely on each other on and off the field, but most importantly in this context, sportsmanship lies in the role of the team captain being able to support the rest of the players and create a space for contribution from everyone.
Having played in various positions including centre and left back as well as floating around in the midfield, I feel like I have the experience and personality to lead a team by encouraging everyone to find the best and most bad-a$$ football player they have inside of them.
