Saul Lotzof
Hi! I’m Saul, a first-year studying English. I think I’d be a great fit for Treasurer because of my experience in dealing with the logistical and financial obstacles of short film projects. I think parts of these experiences might make me a good Treasurer. For example, three years ago, I produced, wrote and directed a short film that won the BFI Future Film Festival Best Short Film Award. Amongst much more, I raised and managed a substantial budget, negotiated with councils for child licenses and lead a team of nearly 40 professionals. I also recently wrote and directed another short, using the distribution money raised by the previous film – this time negotiating with the council to let us be the first film project in Hertfordshire to film with children after Lockdown 1. As Treasurer, I’d love to do a few things. Firstly, I’d like to invest in more gear that would aid members in starting to make their own smaller projects, helping more people get involved in the society. Secondly, I’d want to ensure the fair distribution of funds between term films, and make sure that the money gets spent in the right places – having actually spent the money in the wrong places before, I know first-hand what is and isn’t worth the cash. Lastly, I think that my fascination for cameras and tech in general would help me work efficiently with the president to pick the right equipment for the society in general. Thank you for your consideration.
Dominic Ko
My name is Dominic Ko. I will be a second year Law LLB student in the next academic year. It is my privilege to have served UCL Film & TV Society as a writer and collaborator on our society’s blog. I am grateful to be given a platform to engage critically with the films I have seen and share my insights on East Asian cinema. The workshops I have attended have also been rewarding and practical, and I appreciate the efforts of the committee in organising them.

I am passionate to give back, by heightening my involvement with the society. As the Treasurer, my responsibilities would entail the management of financial matters of the society. I humbly believe that I have the aptitude and attributes to contribute. I was a Training Development Officer in the Singapore Police Force, and for more than a year, I managed administrative and financial matters of the training department, handling budgets, expenses and claims. Keeping track of projects and finances on Excel sheets is not a problem for me.

On top of leading the training department, having been the President of a Toastmasters Club, I believe I possesses the necessary team qualities and organisational skills. Tapping onto my experiences, I aspire to be a reliable, resourceful asset to the society. As Treasurer, I will work hard to support our members and strive to increase the sponsorship for the society. With your trust and faith in me, we will take UCL Film & TV Society a step further in its long and rich history.
Luca Ward
Hey, I’m Luca, a current first-year Economics student, and I’m running to hopefully become next year’s treasurer! I have a methodical, organised mind and an eternal passion for film (I have the ambition of becoming a film producer), and as treasurer my goal is to not only organise the finances of the society, but to also be a valuable member of the committee. I would strive to create a balance between maintaining the stability of the societies accounts/avoiding a deficit, but also ensuring that we are spending as much as we can to maximise the enjoyment of our events, and allow the creative minds of the society to thrive. I intend to be cooperative and easy to talk to and want to make sure we can have the best year possible!
