Hey! I am Danilo and I would love to be the secretary for the Film and TV society! I really love TV, especially soap operas - I am addicted to soaps! I have also set a goal to watch 100 movies in 2021, which I hope to succeed... I really want to be a soap opera writer in the future, and I would love to create my own one day! As the secretary I would be highly responsible and make sure that the society is the very best it can be, and I would help with creating events and making sure everything goes smoothly (and there are snacks in our meetings!) and I would be there to help if any problems arise. I would also love to get involved and help with projects!

Hi! I’m Faith, a first-year law student on the UCL-HKU dual degree. Beyond academics, I am a filmmaker and an actor. I’ve directed several award-winning short films (https://bit.ly/36ZovDX); I’ve also acted in a few feature films and most recently, a Hong Kong TV series. I’ve experienced the joys of filmmaking first-hand—and I hope to share these joys with you all by becoming directly involved with the Film Soc committee.

I understand that streamlined internal operations are essential for ensuring Film Soc’s continued success. I am proactive and possess strong organizational skills, having held leadership positions in my high school student council, arts committee and a student-led human rights NGO. This makes me confident in my ability to carry out my duties as Secretary: from organising regular meetings to managing email communications; from events scheduling to acting as a point of contact between the university and Film Soc.

In light of COVID-19, it’s hard to tell when things will be “back to normal”. Amidst these uncertain circumstances, I believe my contributions will help ensure the smooth running of Film Soc’s in-person and virtual opportunities, while further solidifying Film Soc’s presence at UCL in the coming year.
