Alexia Mihaila
My name is Alexia Mihaila; I am an undergraduate Arts & Sciences student and I am running as the Blog & Podcast Editor because I am passionate about writing, audio-editing, interviewing, and last but not least, film and television!

I have background experience in working with UCL's FIlm & Tv Society as a member and Equipment Manager, but also from writing for UCL Connect.ed Society's blog and helping an independent musician in making her own podcast.

I plan to:

--> Blog:

* Organize the blog team and have articles published weekly

* Create a safe space for sharing ideas, organizing bi-monthly meetings

* Have a broader range of content (e.g. adding the transcription of our workshops or the talks from people in the industry)

* Promote the blog alongside the Marketing Officer and collaborating with other societies

* Strengthen the partnerships we have with other societies that do podcasts (e.g. Rare FM and work on a new show together about Musicscores & Film)

* Have more workshops on how to produce podcasts and organizing short competitions afterwards for permanent spots in our list of podcasts

* Publish content on our channel but also on other platforms (e.g. Spotify) to maximize the exposure of our content

* Organizing interactive podcasts, having a live audience, when safe to do so, and having more interviews with people from the industry

I will pour my heart into these projects & I hope we'll make a great team! :)

Tomi Haffety
As one of the current EICs, I have thoroughly enjoyed engaging with writers and giving people the chance to cover more festivals than ever before, including Sundance, LFF and LEAFF, as well as focus on new releases for both film and TV! Because of the lack of in-person activities this year, the blog was a central feature of the film society's community, and it has been a pleasure to help the blog grow by publishing a variety of different posts throughout the year so far, and I look forward to continuing this success into the next academic year. Interacting with writers and encouraging both new and experienced writers to find their voice on the blog has been a welcome commitment, and is one that I am determined to uphold in order to expand the blog's reach even further.

I am organised, enthusiastic and always open to new ideas from everyone involved with the blog and podcast, having already interacted with so many of you involved with it. As a member of the committee, I would place a bigger emphasis on promoting the blog and podcast so that we obtain more interaction from people who are interested in simply watching films of all kind, and then writing or talking about them. For me, watching films is the ultimate escapism. Interested in the cinema of East Asia, but having favourites from all genres and locations, being EIC provides an opportunity to discuss a range of films, and share them. Vote for me if you want to continue the blog and podcast success into 2021/22 !!
