Sorana Bucseneanu
I know how important it is to feel like you truly belong in a safe and accepting community where people can be themselves, which is why I believe I could make a difference as a welfare officer.
For the past few years I’ve worked as a writer and editor at “Her Culture,” where I first learned how important it is for women to stand together, challenge prejudices and empower themselves & each other. Currently, I am an events coordinator at “Her Time Romania,” where I help organize events that empower and equip young women to accomplish their dreams, and a columnist at Pi Media, where I cover the latest scientific findings about wellbeing and happiness, aiming to give readers the understanding and tools they need to create a healthier, happier, and more mindful lifestyle.
Mental health has never been such a challenge and in any community, it should be a priority. As a wellbeing director, I would apply all of my knowledge to make sure that all members are pointed into the right direction according to their needs and that they are properly informed about relevant and appropriate welfare and psychological services, so that everyone receives the advice and support they need for their wellbeing. I would also organize regular check-ins with the members, as well as work and communicate with Student’s Union and other societies to make sure that all members feel heard, safe, empowered and accepted.
