Hey! I’m Lydia, and I’m running to be your Enactus VP of Engagement.
From participating in the Entrepreneurial club at my previous university to Enactus UCL, I have been amazed by the passion of the students to make a real difference. Yet for many, social entrepreneurship can seem out of reach, for reasons such as funding and competition. This fuelled my desire that more students, regardless of experience, can get a chance to explore social entrepreneurship, with Enactus being a stepping stone to starting your own innovative journey.

As the VP of Engagement, I aim to:
- Increase engagement opportunities for all members regardless of previous experience.
- Foster a strong link within the society and wider Enactus network.
- Expand and maintain good relationships with other societies and outside corporations.
- Ensure term goals are clearly set out and met in a timely manner.
- Represent YOU; ensure your voices are being heard, and your ideas are reflected in the committee’s implementations.

Having previously held committee positions such as the Outreach Director and the Inclusion Officer, I have extensive experiences in creating, managing, and maintaining communication to outside corporations, as well as contacting business partners for collaborations and facilitating events. With your vote, I hope to make valuable contributions to Enactus with my passion for social entrepreneurship and enthusiasm for Enactus’ inspiring community.

Hey there! :)

Just like baking brownies, a good VPE needs a few key ingredients:
Communication. Interpersonal skills. Passion.

Communication: the chocolate base

The foundational skill for fostering good relationships. It is a two-way street that involves not just speaking clearly, but also listening actively. This is crucial as a VPE acts as the middle-man between teams and Business Advisors.

Interpersonal skills: the chocolate chips

A skill any VPE cannot do without, while communication is the foundation, interpersonal skills takes it to the next level by weaving together other skills such as awareness, collaboration and conflict resolution.

Passion: the espresso powder

The unseen factor that elevates any interaction and infuses through all activities carried out. I believe strongly in social entrepreneurship, positively impacting the lives of others, and will always put my best foot forward.

With 1 year’s experience thus far, I hope to build on the work I have done and prioritize these two topics:
1. Matching the Support Network members to projects
With Nationals brewing, I would support the team by roping in Business Advisors who would best value add to each specific team.

2. Expanding the Support Network
With more hands on deck, this would serve to benefit our projects in supporting them in the various aspects that members of the Support Network specialise in.

Let’s get this bread (brownie)!
