I am running for VP of Socials because even without having had the chance to experience EFS in person, I found attending EFS events immensely valuable. I understand that because of the circumstances this year, next year's representatives face extra pressure, and I am willing to uptake the responsibility that comes with it.

My objectives are the following:

1. Give second year students a similar Freshers Beer Pong experience using unused funds from this year

2. Captivate students by organizing connected events such as Pub Golf tournaments and more seasonal orientated events

3. Attracting more students from non-finance subjects early on by organizing and promoting casual inter-societal events

4. Ensure the presence of online social events for remote students unable to be in London

5. Employ mechanisms for all member to easily give suggestions and constant feedback on events

Being part of the organization committee for my high-school ball I acquired networking, planning and time management skills. I have also planned social events as a volunteer in a linguistics society and organized social nights in the bar café I worked in. I recognize that EFS events involve a high magnitude of people and funds, and I firmly believe I have the ability to quickly adapt as well as learn what is needed to organize events of greater scale. Thus, for the aforementioned reasons, I believe myself to be an eligible candidate for this position.
Ekaterina Fomenkova
Hello everyone!
My main wish to be the Vice President of this position is because I want to help the society with organising events and give students an opportunity to engage even more. I already have an experience as a Vice-president of Events of Finance & Investment Club society at my previous place of study, I was on that position for 2 years. The most important thing for me was that I had an opportunity to organise events, find speakers and sponsors for the society and all the events helped students to find their career path and understand what they want to do. The most vital thing in this role is to look for exciting speakers and events, so it will be interesting for students to be a part of the society.
I always had a desire to find the most interesting and the most engaging opportunities for students, these were not only events, but also different trainings and activities.
Moreover, EFS is famous for having one of the most outstanding events and it was very engaging for me to participate in all events possible. I am glad that now I have an opportunity to be the part of EFS and orginise events!
Thanks a lot for your voice!
Sharaf Hossain
Hi, I am Sharaf and I am running for VP of Socials.
Due to the pandemic, it has been difficult for everyone to socialise. However, I am certain that my background has prepared me for the VP of Socials role. I have the budgeting and analytical skills required as this year, I have organised a fundraiser to improve a school in Bangladesh with the Bangla society. Additionally, I have previously organised balls with my Sixth Form. This highlights my planning and strategy skills, as I had to liaise with event managers. I have full confidence that I will apply these interpersonal and project management skills productively as VP of Socials.
My plans:
• Organise the prestigious EFS Christmas ball with the correct balance between extravagance and affordability for students so a majority can attend
• Arrange socials where 20/21 & 21/22 Mentees and Mentors can meet to develop rapport
• Plan socials where students from a non-finance background can be introduced to EFS
• Develop more social charity events to improve the image and publicity of EFS
• Host socials that are designed to be more inclusive to ensure cohesion within the society
Hamza Mahmood
Hi, I’m Hamza, I’m a first year Chemistry student and I’m running for Vice-President of Socials. Over the past year I understand it’s been difficult for all of us to make the most of our university experience, especially for first year students studying from home like me. However, I want to give all members the chance to take a well-deserved break, attend outstanding EFS social events and make the most of the UCL experience.

Previously, I’ve helped organise large events such as the bi-annual Inspire Eid event in my hometown as well as various fundraisers for my sixth form and local charities. Moreover, working as a centre manager at a local tuition company enhanced my organisational skills and I’m confident that I would be a great fit for this role.

If elected I would aim to:

• Ease the transition to in-person socials and give everyone the chance to make the most of UCL
• Create an informal setting for all members to meet new people and connect
• Organise large, diverse and all-inclusive events for everyone to enjoy
• Revive standout social events such as the Christmas Ball and Reading Week Trip

Thank you and I look forward to your support!
