Tak Chan
My name is Andy and I am running to be your Treasurer for EFS.

Let’s be honest, what EFS does for the community is crucial for many students’ careers. Specifically, the Investment Banking Careers Fair provided an eye-opening insight into the limitless opportunities available in the world of banking. I plan to effectively handle the finance of the largest society at UCL, so that in the following year EFS can maintain the high-quality events for fellow students.

I believe I can maintain the fantastic work Mikael has done this year and continue to run EFS smoothly alongside the president. This would be a particularly valuable experience for me as I know first-hand how these events have enabled me to become immersed in the university experience, and it would be my pleasure to help create a welcoming environment at EFS for all newcomers.

My most relevant experience is my two internships in Accounting and Audit, where I was required to create general ledgers for clients’ expenditure and generate financial statements. I am confident that my experience in finance and client relations, as well as my leadership and communication skills, make me the optimal candidate to serve as your Treasurer of EFS.
James Taylor-Anton
My name is James Taylor-Anton, a 1st year student at UCL (Psychology and Language Sciences) and I am running for the Treasurer position.

I spent 2 weeks at Deutsche Bank where I was fortunate enough to see how treasury teams work in investment banks and in Sixth Form, as Charity representative for my house I helped plan a “Colour Run” event across the Senior School and an International Black Tie Dinner to celebrate world cultures. In addition, last summer I worked in a local sales company, where I managed sales invoices, helped keep a balanced inventory with our Chinese suppliers. This required organisation and proactive communication with both clients and suppliers. I believe that these skills can be transferred to our events.

I would be particularly focused on ensuring that EFS meets its agreed budget and timelines, ensuring all payments are up to date, all income such as joining fees and sponsorship are collected and expenditure for social events to stay within agreed targets. I look forward to working closely with the Student Union nurturing open communication and partnership to ensure we are aligned with each other.

I hope this will encourage you to select me as your new Treasurer.
Xin Xia
Hi everyone! I’m Audrey, and I’m delighted to be running for Treasurer of EFS.

My intention is to further involve each and every one of you in planning our events and allocating our budget. I look forward to establishing a feedback channel for you to voice your opinions, and raise your suggestions. This way, you can play a more active role as we collectively improve EFS, and we can maximise our budget by spending on events that truly benefit everyone.

Secondly, I commit to plan our events and budget ahead of time. This ensures that we invest enough to maintain the prestige of our career events, but also reserve ample funds for the socials that we’re all excited about. Planning ahead will also allow me to provide you with weekly overviews of upcoming events, on top of timely updates on our “My EFS” portal, so that you’ll never worry about accidentally missing them again.

If elected, you can rest assured that I’ll always be proactive - not just in completing tasks under my remit, but also in working with all divisions to improve our initiatives for you, and in acting as a bridge between you and the committee.

If you hope for your voice to be heard, for the best opportunities that would open up more doors for you in the future, and for a safe and conducive space where everyone can grow personally and professionally together, please vote for me as Treasurer.

Thank you!
