Aiah Hussaini
Hi! I’m Aya and I’m running for EFS President.
As the largest society at UCL, EFS has been the forefront for several amazing events this year! Working as a first-year representative I’ve had the opportunity to collaborate with the committee on events including the upcoming London Student Bootcamp, the FITE2021 fundraiser and the IWD #choosetochallenge panel. As President, I will be fully dedicated in ensuring that EFS continues to play a pivotal role in empowering students to achieve their goals.

As President, I will:

- Continue to bring in high-profile speakers: EFS has had amazing success with the Investment Banking Careers Fair last month. Thus, I aim to utilise the wide network that EFS has formed and begin planning to host in-person events next year.
- Aim to increase the number of virtual social events this year in order to allow EFS members to make some friends for life! Additionally, with news of the lockdown ending, I intend to bring back the biggest social event of the year; the EFS Christmas Ball along with a Reading week trip to Amsterdam.
- Create a new programme that aids EFS members to secure Summer Internships by pairing them with an EFS Alumni mentor in the industry. Allowing members to continuously be engaged after their first year, while helping EFS to maintain a network with alumni.
- Encourage a larger focus on diversity by organising events for Black History Month and International Women’s Day that host high-profile BAME women in the industry.
Josh Shah
Hi everyone, I’m Josh, a first-year PPE student and current Astor College Hall Rep.
I believe that my passion and skills for the role as President mean I am best placed to help EFS grow in all divisions post-lockdown, while simultaneously increasing inclusivity.

From working full-time for the NHS during the pandemic; to securing multiple Spring Weeks; to managing a social mobility enterprise, these are the unique and real-world perspectives I’ll bring to UCL’s largest society to make the necessary changes for this revolutionised world we see ourselves in.

Some of my main ideas are:
• A mentorship programme focusing more on developing one’s brand image, ensuring long-term success across industries. All schemes would focus more on preparing international, underrepresented, and other student groups who may struggle at first.
• More cross-divisional and in-person interactive events promoting alternative careers, ESG and tech- preparing us for our changing world, strengthened by the new Tech division.
• Lastly, socials would be better than ever. With a great team, and cheaper tickets, you would get the fun you’ve all been waiting for!

I would be open to any suggestions to benefit your futures, so feel free to contact me at [email protected] happy to talk!
