Hi I’m Vicky and I am running for the role of Treasurer as I, along with everyone else, can’t wait to get dance society back and better than ever post Covid!! Following this financially tough and socially isolated year, I am highly motivated in making dance society the best it could possibly be in the coming year. I will do this by bringing forward new ideas, taking on board your suggestions, and increasing funding to hopefully make our bounce back iconic yet accessible to everyone. As a second-year economics student who is, to everyone’s (including my own) surprise, not failing horrendously, I have all the skills it takes to be a great treasurer. I am committed, good with numbers, and extremely unintimidating. Hopefully I can offer a friendly face to the new freshers whilst on the prod team for Freshers’ show 2021. It will be super rewarding to finally be able to give something back to dance society which has offered me so many opportunities and introduced me to the most talented, extraordinary people :)

Hey, I’m Emma and I’d be delighted to be dance society’s Treasurer for the next academic year! Dance soc has been such an important part of my first year and I’ve had so much fun boogying in my room so would love to get even more involved next year.
As Treasurer my main priority will be to build back the non-union grant funding which has taken a hit due to covid. As the UK gradually returns to normal, dance soc will hopefully do the same, helping rebuild such funding through memberships, merch and opportunities for in-person events. My organisation skills will be essential for this to be done successfully and over the past year, I have really developed such skills by being on committee as a Frep.
As a Frep, I helped out many other committee members with their respective duties, developing communication and teamwork skills that will also be vital to being a successful Treasurer. I have also developed organisation and time-management skills by being on the Showcase prod team and balancing uni work with general committee responsibilities. These experiences have given a greater understanding of the ‘behind the scenes’ of dance soc, preparing me really well to take on a larger role next year!!
