Katherine Terence
RUMS CC tutorials have been an instrumental part of my learning during medical school. I am keen to build on the academic support the club offers as its pre-clinical education secretary. I have valuable transferable skills in leadership, teaching and communication by starting an award-winning EdTech business over lockdown and through the variety of committee roles I have filled this year. I look forward to harnessing my skills and experiences to help the CC's pre-clins in this role.

Here are some of my aims:

- Start a CC mentorship scheme. The scheme would involve pairing freshers and second-years with an older student with similar career interests, allowing them to share opportunities and provide general guidance.

- Maintain a regular schedule for tutorials with an emphasis on study skills to bridge the gap between online and in-person teaching.

- Introduce sessions on CV building covering topics such as how to get involved with research, which conferences to attend and how to gain work experience. I have been fortunate enough to receive mentoring from experts in the fields of MedTech, entrepreneurship and surgery. I believe that my knowledge gained from this makes me well qualified to signpost others to similar opportunities.

Thank you!
Ayush Gupta
It would be a privilege to assume this role for the CC. Having significantly benefitted from the club’s preclinical teaching for the past 2 years, I can commend the range of events they have held from personalised anatomy tutorials to iBSc advice to formal mOCaPEs with individualised feedback. They have been amazingly helpful to me and I would relish the opportunity to give back to the club.

Roles on various committees such as Sales Officer of UCL Hindu Society and Chair of my school’s Medical Society have provided me with the teaching and management expertise that this role requires. Respectively, they involved conducting academic tutorials for 1st year medical students and coordinating weekly presentations for our student-led society of 50+ members, making me well-equipped to take on this position.

I am committed, organised and hardworking, and I plan to use these skills to help me achieve a variety of goals that will support this wonderful club in the years to come. Tune in to AGM to hear more!
