I am standing for RUMS CC Community Outreach Officer on next year’s committee. I believe I am a good candidate for this role as I have prior experience on RUMS CC committee as General Secretary and Welfare Secretary as well as a solid understanding of the club and the members in general. After a year restricted by COVID, I have some key ideas in order to help with community outreach as part of RUMS CC including reaching out to more charities and offer cricket coaching from our captains as well as utilising RUMS CC T10 day as a fundraising opportunity. I will go into further detail on these ideas in my speech.
Aadil Ali
To be a part of the RUMS CC committee would be an honour as I can see myself wanting to be an integral part of this club in the future as a player and an overall member.

Being a Community Outreach Officer would be a role I would thrive in as I would love to improve the club’s relationship with and awareness of the wider community through a range of charitable events and volunteering initiatives. Being able to sort out and oversee these events for the club would be a great experience for myself and as an organised and hardworking individual I will be sure to do this job to the best of my ability.

As a candidate for this role I believe that it would be important for the CC to build new relationships with the wider community and potentially help out at different services like food banks or with schools to show that as medics and a club we are ready to help those around us. Another idea, that was halted this year due to Covid, that I think would be fun and rewarding is volunteering to help out at community cricket training sessions run by the Lord’s Taverners Charity. I would be more than happy to hear other ideas from other members as well.

To conclude if I found myself in this role I will ensure that I will focus on improving the CC’s image in order to attract sponsorships and also more importantly I hope to bring the RUMS CC family closer together through all these events.
