Having been Ladies secretary last year, I’d love to expand and take on the role of the president this year. Last year I had experience at a smaller scale and successfully grew a side of 0 women to around 15 players. I kept these players through the year through tailoring beginner and experienced sessions to individuals and creating a social atmosphere through group chats and women’s socials. I’m eager this year to bring this experience and expand it to running the whole club.
Throughout the past two years, I’ve also been working with a cricket charity throughout London and the London universities cricket club, leaving me with experience of networking in the local cricket community and contacts to be able to expand our presence or gain coaching for our players.
I’ve also been playing cricket for the past 7 years. Having started at county level (due to a lack of players), without knowing what an over was, I’ve learnt first-hand the barriers faced by individuals starting to play cricket. In the role of president, I’d be able to use this experience to ensure the sport and club is more inclusive.

I would like to apply for the role of President as I believe the position plays an integral role in the proper functioning of the UCL CC, an organisation which has benefitted me in so many ways. While my two years at UCL have been highly irregular due to the unprecedented circumstances, one constant has been the support and friendship from a wide variety of CC members. Having given the role of Social Secretary my best this year, I hope to follow Will Morton’s wonderful footsteps by carrying out the position of President.

If elected, my priority would be to ensure that the club excels at a time when coronavirus related restrictions will have hopefully been removed. To do this, I would strive to lead the committee to make sure we provide the best possible opportunities whether that be through training, socials or fixtures. Alongside this, I would support those responsible for the vital Welfare and Volunteering positions. Obviously, this role would be a significant responsibility. A range of experiences have prepared me for this, including CC Social Secretary this year, UCL BUPS Careers Officer and internships in London and New York real estate. Thank you for your consideration.
