Hi I’m Fion and I’m a 2nd year BSc Social Sciences student running for Welfare Officer! You are probably wondering: What is she doing here?

As an incoming QS management trainee coming from a non-cognate degree, I am more than happy to offer help to people from cognate/non-cognate degrees in terms of the knowledge of the construction industry or application process!

Growing up in Hong Kong and then the UK, I have witnessed the transformations of city landscapes and I am fascinated by the designs and the construction of our built surroundings. The combination of my passion towards both the built environment and the social world attracted me to a career in the construction industry.

I am running for Welfare Officer because I believe there are so many problems that students face at university, including academic pressure, judgement from others and difficulty in accessing support. The coronavirus pandemic has also caused exceptionally challenging and worrying times, especially the effect of this new lockdown which will take a huge toll on our mental health and wellbeing. Therefore, I would like to play a key role in promoting wellbeing and improving mental health in the UCL community.
