Hi coffee lovers! I’m a second year student and like many of you here, I rely on my cup of joe every morning to get my day going, and to help me through all my last minute essay crunching sessions at the student centre. It would therefore be my first priority as welfare officer to ensure that all of you are able to do the same if elected.

Regardless of whether you’re grinding your own coffee at home every morning, sipping on it while catching up on assignments at your favourite artisanal coffee shop, or merely exploiting Pret’s coffee subscription trial and maximizing your 5 free cups a day, I will ensure that the society’s activities will be inclusive for all members regardless of how you may enjoy your coffee. My plans of continuing to host tours around London visiting the best coffee shops the city has to offer, as well as organising coffee making workshops once in-person activity resumes will help ensure that this is the case.

Having been a member of the student support and wellbeing team at UCL this year, I am also well acquainted with providing students with support with any emotional needs, facilitating non-judgmental peer-to-peer conversations, listening to any concerns and difficulties students might be experiencing and signposting students to relevant mental health resources if necessary, and hope to do the same for members of the society if elected.
