Hi everyone! I'm a second year Population Health Sciences student and am nominating myself for a second year to serve as an Outreach Director. Given how tightly linked climate change and its consequences are to public health and health equity, I am keenly aware of the wide-reaching impacts climate change is continuing to have if its causes continue to not be addressed; whether this be the increase in vector-borne disease transmission in previously unaffected areas of the globe, or even further increases in disaster displacement due to increases in extreme weather events. Being involved with CAS will therefore me to do my part in addressing such issues.

Having previously served in multiple outreach roles for various societies; including CAS, over the past 2 years, I have extensive experience contacting potential partners for event collaborations and securing sponsorships. This includes contacting other societies both within UCL and at other institutions, as well as inviting guest speakers to host talks and workshops for society members. I also have extensive experience working with a range of altruistic focused NGOs on separate campaigns in the past related to youth development, animal welfare, and environmental sustainability. As such, I hope to be able to draw on my previous experience to aid CAS in forming, developing, and maintaining strong ties with more partner organisations this year to help the society deliver a wider variety of events.

I would like to put to contribution of the Society my commitment to Sustainability as well as my experience in outreach that I gained through my role as UCL Art Society Treasurer. Over the past year, I was able to collaborate with Students for Global Health on an exhibition on Health and Climate which really made me want to get involved with UCL Climate Action Society Committee. I believe that my sponsorship seeking skills and experience in External Relations would be a great asset for this position. I look forward to help organise events and coordinate collaboration, and to get the ball rolling despite the difficult situation we have been through.
