Maryam Badghisi
Hi, I'm Mar! I am running for online editor l because I have experience from previously working with online publications. Specifically, I know how to upload content on websites, use social media and have a bit of background with coding. More importantly, I am organised, creative, quite technical, have an eye for detail and am easy to work with. My priority as the online editor would be to become more active on social media and gain more readers. I would do this by combining my experience of being the Cheese Grater’s graphics editors this year and creating fun graphics to catch students’ attention.
Stephanie Frank
I am a proud and proactive member of the Cheese Grater and I would like to give back to the society, as next year is my last at UCL. As Online Editor, I want to emphasize inclusivity and the power of the individual voice. I want to help encourage writers to pursue their passions and overcome obstacles of fear and self-doubt.

Having worked in the journalism industry professionally for the past two years, I believe I’m a strong candidate for this position. Last summer, I reviewed, copy-edited and uploaded articles from contributing writers for a German sustainability magazine on a daily basis; exercising vital skills as an online editor. I wrote for their online and print magazine to a professional standard, evidencing my strong writing skills and conducted interviews with notable figures for my work.

My work with the Cheese Grater has been bold, illuminating, and exciting. This year, I helped uncover UCL’s politically controversial relationship with the Sackler Foundation, UCL’s ableist stance and the relationship between Covid-19 and indigenous people. This showcases my ability to work collaboratively in a team environment, generate my own story ideas and meet tight deadlines.

Adam Bloss
I've enjoyed the past year, and would like to do it again, with the vague promise that I'll be more organised in the future.
