Hi! I’m a second year Population Health Sciences student nominating myself for Treasurer. Having studied the biological and social consequences of cancer, I am keenly aware of the severe impacts various cancers are having on both individuals and societies as a whole. This is furthered by my time volunteering with Cancer Research UK over the past year. Being involved with the CCA will therefore allow me to do my part in bringing these issues to light.

With the expected resumption of grant funding for societies next year, I wish to apply for increased funding to invite more industry professionals from NGOs, charities, and corporations working to address issues surrounding cancer for panel events, providing members with a deeper insight into the diverse career opportunities available in the field. Pushing for networking events, collaborations with other health societies at UCL, and large scale conferences once in-person activity resumes would also be main priorities.

Having served as Treasurer for multiple societies at UCL, I have extensive experience liaising with the student union to manage finances, organise events, apply for grants, arrange sponsorships, book external speakers, and carry out reimbursements. I also have experience working with a range of altruistic NGOs on campaigns focused on various health related issues, and hope draw on my previous experience to help deliver a greater variety of events.
