As a member of the society all throughout my first year, I want to become a part of this amazing society as a committee member for next year. I have participated in events hosted by the society and I want to be able to help carry on this tradition and create another amazing year for the members of the Business Society.

Hey everyone! My name is Luka Kovacevic, I’m a first-year Philosophy, Politics and Economics student running for the position of Welfare Officer and Events VP.

This year I’ve been a First-Year Executive in Business Society and was part of organising several events, such as Non-Finance Orientation Day and the Shark Tank Competition. Both events made me aware of the impact successful events can have on students’ career development, which motivated me to run for this position.

My aim for next year is to offer our members insight into a variety of industries and extend our career support by:
- Organising Non-Finance Orientation Day, Finance Orientation Day, office tours, and other similar events
- Expanding our scope of events to include new industries, such as the gaming business, technology, and retail
- Hosting regular CV clinics, interview preparations, and skill sessions tailored to specific industries
- Introducing an extensive online calendar, including materials used in previous events and skill sessions
- Diversifying our range of speakers and introducing events that cater to the needs of underrepresented groups

To maintain the society's welfare, I hope to organise more in-person socials and a series of mental health events. Events Division will address issues such as maintaining a healthy work-life balance and others, some specifically aimed at freshers.

Hopefully, you’ll give me your trust and the chance to make my plans come true!
