Hi, I’m Louisa Ong and I am running to be the President of the Business Society.

My ability to work hand-in-hand with my team to deliver results makes me a good fit for the President role. As the first-year executive of the society, I helped with logistics for the IIC, onboarded BCG judges for the International Case Competition, moderated panels for Non-Finance Orientation Day, and more! These actions show that I have played a vital role in the society’s development, and I can work well with my team to propel Business Society to even greater heights.

My vision is to uphold the prestige we have as a diverse career society and make what we do more impactful by adding more value to all business fields. I will focus on:

1. Maintaining diversity
I hope to foster collaboration between divisions in the society to create unique initiatives, such as marketing case competitions, green finance conferences, and international student events.

2. Talent development
I aim to partner with firms to provide skill-upgrading opportunities. Members can look forward to undertaking short-term internships with start-ups, attending technical skills workshops, and receiving an exclusive career resource guide.

3. Boosting interaction
I strive to work with the Guild to secure sponsors that will provide members access to office tours, in-person socials, and a Boat ball event.

By voting for me, I will lead a society that builds a bridge between you and the best career opportunities.

What makes me a good addition to Business Society is my balance between being a leader and a team player. I appreciated it especially through the organization of the UCL Leaders conference as Finance Officer, where I lead the finance team, and through cooperation with colleagues, we managed to recruit speakers such as Rafał Brzoska (CEO of InPost).

Another qualities that I find useful are patience and persistence. I strongly believe and notice that it is worth thinking long-term and consistently implementing the intended plan, even when their fruits of our work are not visible today.

In my previous roles such as USG for Finance at Tricity Model United Nations I proved to be able to take initiative which I hope to do at Business Society as well. Being proactive is very important for me, I definitely wouldn’t call myself a bystander.

Here at Business Society I am hoping to take this society to another level. By that I mean: creating new relationships with industry related firms and other societies as well maintaining current relationships through collaborative work. In my opinion this would enable to give this society a fresh new look as well as enhance the way in which it is operating right now.

Hey! My name is Ramona and I am a 2nd year Economics and Statistics student.

-Why am I running for President?
Well, when I was in my first year, I closely observed all societies that interested me, but only as a member. In my second year, I became part of the committee of UCL Business Society and so I gained a complete experience of both member and executive, as well as good grasp on both face-to-face and online development. Accumulating all this knowledge from different perspectives, I noticed the strengths and weaknesses of the society and created a plan on how to further improve it together next year, whichever form it may take.

-What would I do as president? What would I change?
The two main things i would change are the following: I would try to break the wall between our members and the committee, to bring more of the Bizsoc family feeling to them as well, to make them more involved in the society. I would also try and diversify the opportunities more, balancing the finance and non-finance areas.
