Hi! I’m Josh and I am running for the position of Fundraising Officer at RUMSBC. I would be honoured to help gather contributions for deserved charities to help this great society have a positive impact on the local community. I want to do this in a ways that can bring the boat club community closer together, whether that be through chilled out socials like the annual pub quiz or fitness challenges that get everyone out and about.

As rowers we are all mad about kit and if I were elected I would be keen to listen to the ideas that you have and do my best to design kit that reflects these demands. I want to continue the fantastic job that has been done creating club ‘merch’ so that everyone can roll up to the boat house looking fresh.

If I were elected I would aim to:

-Seek out fundraising opportunities for causes that the members of the club most want to support.

-Run fun, and engaging fundraising events.

-Design kit based based on input from club members (from polls for example).

-Propose new fundraising ideas- some I have include: Post outing snack stalls, movie nights and a cocktail/karaoke night.

Hi, I’m Aryan and I’m running to be your fundraising officer!

RUMSBC has been an integral part of my two years at university. I have loved every aspect of the club, and I want to get more involved with it. I believe that charity is a key part of RUMSBC and I am extremely enthusiastic about both. I am also running for RUMS RAG VP and if elected I will have the ability to truly promote our events for charity and take them to the next level.

I intend to carry on with our classic events such as the pub quiz, but also bring fresh ideas such as RUMS Poker Night, RUMS Bake Off and RUMS Colour Run to the table. I will work closely with the other fundraiser to ensure that RUMSBC lives up to its fundraising potential whilst looking good in hot new merch.

I want to make sure all members’ opinions count so if you have any ideas, please feel free to contact me via:

Why me?
Being a part of the RUMSBC Committee this year has given me an insight into the role of Fundraiser and all the hard work that goes on behind the scenes. I have thoroughly enjoyed the fundraising events and kit that Vaish and Nicco have brought to the table and will strive to follow in their footsteps!

I have four words for you: bring back the joggers! Alongside the annual kit, I will aim to bring back some much wanted classics. I will increase communication to find out what we want to see in the kit list this year and develop as many ideas as possible into a reality. I will also work to implement some of this year’s kit ideas that were put on hold due to the pandemic.

The past year has seen numerous, successful RUMSBC Fundraising Events. I will use my experience on the RUMS Events Subcommittee to maximise engagement in these events and replicate the success this year. Alongside my ideas for fundraising events (including an inter-club erg relay *insert oohs and aahs here*), I will increase the visibility of what our efforts are going towards to get around donor fatigue.
