I am running for Welfare Officer because having been in the club for 3 years, I know what people love most about UCLWB is the sense of family and feeling welcome in the club. After a very different year, welfare and inclusion will be crucial in supporting all club members as club activity, social interactions and life go back to normal.

Having been UCLWB president for 2 years will help me when working with committee and the Union. I have also attended different trainings including Active Bystander and Pride in TeamUCL trainings, and I am looking forward to attending further trainings, to better fulfil my role.

If elected, I plan to continue developing the initiatives that were started in the club this season, and work alongside committee and the Union to create new welfare-based projects and increase awareness of welfare and the amount of welfare events.

I would love to be UCLWB's next Welfare Officer. I am an open, friendly person with a really strong drive to make UCLWB a better, more inclusive club, but more importantly, hoping to help every individual person in the club, making them feel welcome in our UCLWB family and supporting them within and outside the club, in the broader UCL community and in life in general.

My name is Gaby and I'm running for the Welfare Officer position in the UCL Women's Basketball Club.

There's something about shooting hoops that's therapeutic and helps empty my mind. Being a BSc Psychology student, I've developed a strong passion in mental health and well-being. My goal is to combine this with my love for Basketball and use this as an avenue to promote well-being among members.

As Covid-19 has closed gyms around my area in Jakarta, finding a safe space to play Basketball is challenging. However, I'd imagine that the UCL Basketball Club is facing the same challenges imposed by lockdown. I'd like to help tackle this problem by:
1. Organising fun and stress-free socials for all members, where all members feel welcomed. This will range from game nights to even hiking adventures!
2. Implementing a non-hierarchical system where no one should be afraid to speak up and voice out their opinions, particularly on how to further better our club.
3. And lastly, be the first point of support to those experiencing conflicts of any sort within the community, specifically by arranging 1-to-1 talks to those in need.

With that in mind, I will do my best to ensure that our club is a welcoming and homely one!

Thanks for taking your time to vote, I hope to be working with all of you soon!
