My decision to run for the position of treasurer at UCLWB for the second year is quite similar to why I ran the first time.
Having spent 3 years in this club, I care deeply about it and wish to see us continue to do well. The pandemic hit us quite hard as a club, in terms of not being able to play as much as we would have liked, as well as not being able to build as strong a community as we have in the past, but in other ways helped us grow in terms of the number of new members we have attracted to the club.
With the easing of restrictions and a successful vaccine roll-out, I am excited for us to get back to doing what we all share a love of, and would really like to be a part of helping our club return to the great heights I know we can achieve once more.
I bring to the table experience and a genuine love for UCLWB, and with that, will be happy to offer my guidance and support to whoever is our next treasurer, through whatever next year brings us.
Hi!
My name is Rachel and I’m a first-year studying Chemistry with Management. I am running for the position of treasurer because I enjoy budgeting and planning for future events. I also enjoy playing basketball thus I believe I can combine these for the benefit and ultimate success of the club during the next academic year.
If elected my main aims would be to :
1. Liaise with the Union Finance team to increase the budget allocated in order to open avenues for new events
2. Ensure that all events/activities are adequately funded and take place with minimal hiccups.
Thank you for reading my manifesto!
