Hi everyone, I’m David and I’m running for Treasurer. I love playing Badminton because it is a sport that brings me joy and reminds me of my friends and family. Similarly, I want members of the society to feel the same way as I do.

In high school, I was the Symphonic Band’s quartermaster, where I managed the band’s finances which included budgeting for instrument purchases and repairs. This is similar to the role of a Treasurer and I believe that my past experience has given me the necessary skills that I can contribute to the society.

Even though activities have been affected by the pandemic, I still believe in fostering a positive and inclusive environment for members. If elected, I aim to keep the base membership price the same with better benefits than we had last year, including more/better equipment. I also hope to secure venues as much as possible to host more social sessions.

I hope you will support me for the position of Treasurer so that I can contribute to the sport that has given me so much fun!

Hi, I'm Tim, a first year Economics student. As the former 3rd best badminton player in England for my age group, I have been passionate about badminton for over 10 years. During this time, I have spent countless hours helping others to find similar enjoyment in this amazing sport, and I am now keen to continue this at university. I believe that a position on this committee would provide the perfect platform for this and I am applying for the Treasurer role as it fits both my skillset and interests. As an aspiring investment banker and student on a highly mathematical degree, I am skilled at handling data and using programmes in order to manage the budget.

If elected, I plan to:
- Look for more sponsorship opportunities in order to expand the club and improve the sessions
- Guarantee that membership prices will stay the same, and look to see if they can be reduced
- Examine the possibility of increasing the number of sessions, especially in the final term to de-stress during the exams period
- Liaise with the relevant people to organise amazing socials (once restrictions are lifted), following a whole year with no in-person events
- And of course, help lead the return of badminton once we are allowed to resume

I hope that I can count on your support and I look forward to the challenge of growing the club even further. As one of the largest 3 sports societies consistently, an efficient handling of money can help us achieve that coveted first place.
