Zainab Syed
Hi I’m Zainab and I’m running for the role of Social Secretary for RUMS Badminton! Last year RUMs badminton played a massive role in my university life, that was made even more special with the efforts and spirit of the social secretaries. I would love to have the opportunity to help make badminton as incredible of an experience for others as it was for me!
My motivation for running for Social Secretary came from my desire to bring people together to enjoy badminton and to help provide the opportunity to make good friends and create treasured memories that members can look back fondly on later on in life. As a second year medical student, I understand the need for fun and time for leisure and relaxation as a respite from the hardships of being a university student.
After spending this past year in lockdown with very limited social interaction, the need for togetherness and community has never been stronger- with me as your Social Secretary, I will ensure that there will only be good times ahead to look forward to to make up for the shambolic and emotionally exhausting months that have passed.

Hi, I'm Sai and I would like to stand for a Social Sec. position for RUMS Badminton next year. This past year of Covid had been hard and isolating to say the least, and I believe that in this role, with my trusty sidekick, we can make 2021-2022 RUMS Badminton's best year yet. The extremely active social side of the club is something that really helped me find my place in the Medical School as a fresher, and I look forward to physically bringing our incredible community back together in all its former glory, to help you all retake or gain your place too. As Kit Sec. this year, I have gained invaluable insight into the running of Committee and I look forward to contributing towards the club in a greater role as Social Sec. I would like to prioritise the inclusive and friendly atmosphere of Badminton, a quality that I found singled Badminton out from other Sports Clubs. I hope to be granted the privilege of being Social Sec. and I can't wait to start the new year with a BANG!

Hey, I'm Tesh and I'm running for Social Secretary for RUMS Badminton 2021. This year has been very tough and I would like to bring the fun and greatness back to the club for next year! Many freshers and members have missed out on the core of Badminton's social life and thus, with my trusty sidekick, I would be privileged to revive this next year. RUMS Badminton is a family and I would like to emphasise this with regular social events, AMAZING sport nights, valuable support and a hard-to-miss tour.
This club has shaped who I am today and I'd like to make this club inclusive, outgoing and friendly- a reputation that RUMS Badminton is proud of. Being part of the Committee this year (General Secretary) has helped me to gain insight into the roles of running and organising events, while also providing ideas on how to improve and maintain the brilliance of this club. It would be an honour to serve this club as Social Secretary, and I can't wait to make this year, the MOST social and best year yet!
