I hope to serve as your President and take a more active role in achieving our society’s vision.
Having been actively involved in Discussion Groups, speaker events, and activities in Publications, I want to continue and better the work of the committee by partnering with more cultural societies, hosting regular Events on pertinent Asiatic issues, and increasing our members’ involvement in all aspects of Publications. I will start by organising weekly meetings, where we can have a renewed sense of purpose and be empowered to bring all our ideas to life.
As the former Vice-President of one of my college’s Councils, I have ample experience in liaising with the Students’ Union and other organisations—like the Bentham Brooks Institute—as well as planning and executing successful events to bring more exposure, opportunities, and a wider network to the society. I am confident in serving you as an empathetic, dedicated, and decisive leader.
In my term, I hope to rally everyone around causes that are meaningful to us. As we raise awareness about Asiatic affairs, we also have the capability to uplift Asians internationally. Hence, I want to start a society-wide programme with both Events and Publications, where we explore Asian countries less known to the world, examine more closely the impact of Asiatic affairs on the Asian diaspora, and take a firm stand against discrimination.
Feel free to email me if you want to hear more about my plans! Together, we can make this possible.
