Hi all, my name is Jamie - Treasurer of the AI society. This year I’m running for President with three ambitious priorities:

1. Give each of our members the opportunity to make a global impact. As your president, I will reach out to and form bonds with the AI societies of other world-renowned universities such as Stanford, MIT, Oxford and Cambridge. Starting this year, I propose a new inter-society competition accessible to our committee and members to find the best solution to global problems specified by industry. This isn’t just a campaign promise – I’m already working on it. This year, bit by bit, we tackle climate change.

2. Increase our emphasis on doing. People learn best from experience, and this is exactly what I’m going to give them. Next year, you’ll be able to see and take part in increasing activity in development projects, competitions and top-quality hands-on machine learning tutorials open to all.

3. Integrating committee and community. A society should be a place to meet new people, explore your interests and make memories for life. To combat COVID’s influence on this over the course of the last year, I’ve hosted virtual social and icebreaker events. Yet socialising has remained difficult. Next year, we’ll be giving our members back the time that they’ve lost with doubled efforts on both online and offline social events!

If you see the future of this society as I do, vote for me! Feel free to email me any questions at [email protected]
