Jake Dorman
During my time as a first year rep I reached out to numerous organisations, including the AI All Party Parliamentary Group, the Schwarzman Centre’s Institute for Ethics in AI, and the Future of Humanities institute, the last of which is now lined up for our AI in Policy panel. I want to help connect our society to more top institutions and organisations such as these, to give the best opportunities for our members, and this is why I am running for Head of Outreach. My main 2 priorities as Head of Outreach will be:
Collaborations: While our society is the first in the UK to focus on Artificial Intelligence, across the rest of the world there are plenty more. I intend to create a network between these societies, and collaborate on large scale, international events.
Corporate Appeal: To get the best opportunities for our members, the society must be well respected and recognised by the top research institutions in the world: in both Academia and in industry. In previous years we had a partnership with Google: as Head of Outreach, I intend to get us a formal partnership with another tech giant, to help us fund more large scale events.
