While I've only spent around a month in my current role as head of marketing, I've already managed to assemble a committed marketing team, following from my success in creating, assembling and managing the VR team, and created a vision, despite the time commitments of managing a said project. There have already been overhauls of the marketing under my leadership, but the biggest changes, as found in my brand strategy, will be most visible in the new year, completely changing the outward-facing nature of the society and dramatically improving our profile.

My Priorities: Enacting on the core tenants I identified in the brand strategy: accessible | engaging | innovative. These tenants will inform every facet of the outward-facing society, including creating new web-series; pipelines to ensure complete beginners can engage with AI; a magazine; monthly campaigns; collaborations with other societies; community-building on discord; and fortnightly code jams. Apart from the mentioned deliverables, I'll be taking a data-driven approach to increasing engagement, both with social media and with events we put on. Our member base is our core strength, and they are, as such, at the core of my strategy.

My vision, and the plan developed in the brand strategy, is to craft the same level of prestige in the AI Society as in the Oxford Union and I'd be honoured with the opportunity to enact it.

It is indeed difficult to single out “the one” who deserves the very title Head of Marketing among the floating faces of nominees. Since everything was online this year, most of you won’t know what kind of person I am, although you might be aware of the existence of Jean (Jieun) Kim from the corner of the screen in the Zoom meetings.

To give a brief introduction of myself, I am working as a First Year Representative in the Events team and between the society events, I always return to my world of proofs and theorems since I’m studying Mathematics for the sake of my grades and love of logic. Before coming to UCL, I was the Assistant Secretary General of Marketing at Yale University MUN and the intern at Vitamins3 (a startup founded by UC Berkeley students and graduates). Then I finally became a part of the AI Soc committee to reach out to the speakers for the talks and Women in Health Series for the betterment of our society.

I promised myself to do so many wonderful things for AI society when I first joined the committee. But so many plans have gone without seeing any light. I have this vision to carry out these plans, to identify the best marketing tools for our events, and to make our AI Society known to everyone at UCL next year.

You might hesitate to choose me as you don’t know me well enough to put your faith in me. But if you feel an inclination, no matter how small or big, to give me a chance, please go ahead: Trust your guts and cast that vote for me!
