I have been Academic Events Officer for SAP since September 2020. As this school year comes to an end, I look back on all the wonderful talks and presentations SAP has brought its members over the past year and I want to carry the torch on to next year and keep supporting this beautiful community. Now, perhaps more than ever, the therapeutic and scientific potential of psychedelics is becoming more and more evident, and it is a crucial time in their history to fight for equity in their development and representation, as well as putting an end to misconceptions and years of propaganda that have plagued the field. As a world leader in Neuroscience research, I believe UCL has a big role to play in this rapidly developing field. While strict government restrictions remain in place, through the power of advocacy, scientific study, information, and firsthand testimony, things will eventually shift. The key though is to continue on this mission and keep talking about these important and life-changing substances. This is what I will continue to strive for as President of SAP.
