I’ve gone by many names: Jessica, JS from Anisoc - LARPed as Phoenix Wright, Makoto etc,

Anisoc has meant a lot to me these past two years. Having the opportunity to attend and organise the events we’ve held has allowed me to understand the community. I want to go further and put that experience to good use. A few of you have experienced the discord this year – alongside the other committee members, I’ve tried my best to help keep our events enjoyable online. But I have a few more ideas for in-person events.

I’ve witnessed the success of Anisoc this year and would like to continue this by strengthening the relationships we’ve built with other socs and help foster more collaborations. I know what worked in-person as well as online, and alongside these collaborations, I want to strengthen our official events. I hope to implement ways to improve Anisoc, whilst acting as support for the other committee members who want to work on their projects.

I’ve already learned what I could as Welfare. Now allow me to show what I can do as President.

Joshua Darmon
Hi, I'm Joshua, although most of you only know me as "Stara" online.

During these difficult times where many of us felt alone and distressed, Anisoc helped us feel at home, make new friends, and have fun discussing our favorite games, manga or anime.

I want to reciprocate the support Anisoc gave me this year by ensuring that the same amount of care is directed towards making our society a place to relax and enjoy yourself for both fresher's and returning students alike.

As a president I plan to make Anisoc a welcoming society where everyone will be able to showcase their favorite genres or creators so that others can discover new works they might have overlooked or not heard about. To this end I want to promote more events like the Gundam week that allowed me and many others to experience Gundam for the first time and hope that the same will be possible for other franchises not currently in the limelight.

I promise that I will try my best to make Anisoc a worthwhile experience for everyone involved.

Thank you for taking time to read this, and please vote for me!

In these hard times that we are facing, I find it invaluable for people to have a safe haven, where they can relax, feel safe and have fun. For me, this safe haven is the UCL Anime Society. What my aim is, as president, is to extend this feeling to others. I want this society to be a place where people can escape from the hardship and troubles of studies, to be able to discuss different opinions on anime, manga, gooses, molcars. I want this society to be open to anyone, even if they are new to anime. I want to be able to evolve the activities in this society to be able to appeal to a broad range of people, to activities such as book reviews, chess games, or even online brunch, cause food is great. The reason to vote for me as President is that I am an open person. I will listen to your opinions, listen to your ideas and try and continue to make this society flourish. But my true reason for wanting to become president, is that I just want to get to know you all better. 2020 was a rough year, and a year where many have felt isolated, myself included. By becoming president, not only can I help improve this society so that no one feels alone in it, it'll allow me to communicate with all of you better. So I ask you, from the bottom of my heart, to vote for me, and allow me to take the society further that what my predecessors have already done. Thank you.
