We are living in the golden age of social movements – with #MeToo, Black Lives Matter, The Climate Coalition and more. Our liberties have been impacted so much these years, therefore it is now even more important for us to unite and keep striving for better protection of human rights. I am passionate about serving the underprivileged in our community, and have been actively joining relevant events despite the current situation. I volunteered at a cancer caring centre by preparing meals and chatting with the patients, participated in a reading scheme for young children, and supported the operations of multiple food charities. I am also currently co-organising two projects in UCLPASS, to fundraise for those who lack access to food during the pandemic and give online English lessons to children respectively. All these experiences have brought me great joy, and I believe I can put my skills acquired into practice by being the Campaigns and Fundraising Officer.

For the coming year, I propose to organise online campaigns centring on gender, race and democracy, to advocate and raise awareness for the disadvantaged, also aiming to create an enjoyable and rewarding experience for members though we may not meet in person. Lastly, I endeavour to continue defending human rights and lead to great prospects for our community as part of UCL Amnesty.
