Muriel Sirgi
Having been a member of the aikido club for 3 years and a part of the committee for the last two, I would like to take the next year to focus on the wellbeing of the members of our club. I am friendly, outgoing and trustworthy, and I believe I could be there for anyone when needed. As welfare officer I would like to implement welfare office hours to allow other club members to come to me with any worries or issues.

I am nominating myself for the Welfare Officer Position because I would love to take on a more active role in this club. Due to the COVID pandemic, I feel that I have missed out on the opportunity to participate wholeheartedly in Aikido and university as a whole, and for my final year at UCL I really want to push myself out of my comfort zone. As Welfare Officer, my main goal would be ensuring that this club is a place where everyone feels safe and welcome to participate. I would also help with the smooth running of the club as well as brainstorming ideas for fun and inclusive socials. Most importantly, I want everyone who joins Aikido to enjoy themselves as much as I have this year!
