Ayodola Ayorinde
Hi everyone, my name is Ayodola and I'm a first year law student.

My passion and dedication in this field has been cultivated over the years. Firstly, by being a mentor in a mentorship scheme whilst at sixth form, volunteering as a charity shop storefront worker, facilitating a social campaign on mental health in my city. I also set up my own initiative called "SOUL" which was a safe space I created for people of minority ethnic backgrounds. I held weekly sessions and multiple insight events with guests as part of this initiative.

As the welfare and volunteering officer of the ACS I hope to do multiple things:
- Set up a mentorship scheme with a local sixth form where current undergraduates in the ACS can guide the students.
- Establish drop-in sessions where members of the ACS can have open discussions about mental health and wellbeing.
- Build upon the current partnership we have with Gregg's and set up similar schemes with other cafes and restaurants in the area.
- Continue the brothers and sister’s mentorship scheme.

I would also like to carry on the work of the current welfare and volunteering officer, Blessing, by conducting feel-good events such as ACS come dine with me and ‘Canvas and chill’.

I have benefited from being involved in the volunteering schemes as part of the ACS this year. I hope to cultivate a culture of openness and an environment where each member can be involved in extracurricular initiatives to develop their skills.
