Hey! I’m Isabella. I have gained invaluable experience at AMPSoc in the past two years. In my first year, I was a brand consultant for Amplio. This year, I took on a committee role where I led the implementation of four Amplio consulting projects. If I am to be elected president, my vision is for AMPSoc to be a one-stop-shop for 3 things: inspiration, skill-development, and experience. For inspiration, I will continue to organize events with leaders of the advertising and branding industry (this year we welcomed speakers from Spotify and Fox Entertainment). For skill development, I want to create even more emphasis on workshops, such that our members can cultivate skills that their degrees don’t necessarily offer. Finally, for experience, I will continue my work from this year and further develop Amplio to become an exciting and established brand consultancy, with talented members such as you. Considering this year’s circumstances, I would be grateful for the opportunity to make the society the best it can be in the upcoming academic year!
I'm nominating myself to be the next President of AMPsoc because of how much this society has shaped my plan for my future career. Thanks to AMPsoc, I've pushed myself to branch out of my comfort zone and explore paths that I didn't even know existed! As President, I want to ensure that other UCL students can have the same sort of experiences I did, from engaging in fascinating talks from leading industry experts to participating in AMPLIO, AMPsoc's student-led brand consultancy project, in order to learn more about what it takes to pursue a career in advertising, marketing, and PR.
I've had extensive leadership and collaborative experiences within a few societies already, which I believe makes me a good fit for the role. As Fresher's Rep for DanceSoc in my first year, I learned how to be flexible and versatile and saw how every role must be done well for a society to function smoothly. This past year, I was Publicity Officer for KpopSoc, which helped strengthen my design-thinking and time management skills. In addition, I founded and am currently President of the non-UCL affiliated society, Subtle Asian Soc, so I already know what's required of the role and how to be a good leader. Thank you all for giving me the opportunity to run for this role and I hope you choose me to be your next AMPsoc President!
