Samuel Bruce
I understand the steps that this society must take to advance, and I am prepared to guide it. Through my experience as Chairman of Cabinet Minister to Justin Trudeau, Joyce Murray’s Constituency Council, I know what it takes to be a participative leader. Building on such skills, I took up a role as Project-Lead at 180DC, where I had the opportunity to not only lead but build and maintain relationships with my mentor and client. Also, as someone with experience in the coding languages of Python, C+, and R, I would bring a fresh data-rich perspective to the society. As a result of my experiences, I believe I hold the necessary skills to lead, secure high-quality projects, and ensure the society can maintain long-term partnerships with clients.

I will:
1. Place feedback at the core of the society’s model. This society belongs to its members - our job is to best enable your success!
2. Provide more professional training opportunities, to assist you in the short-term with 180DC and facilitate your long-term career goals.
3. Secure high-quality projects where you can have the greatest social impact.
4. Integrate a larger data-analytics presence within the society through digital projects and initiatives.

Julius Metrikis
Hi, I am Julius! I have been a member of the 180 DC Society for a year now and am really happy with the resources and opportunities it provided me. I would like to join as Consulting Director next year, so I continue the great work on this impactful student-led society. My previous experience is closely aligned with the position, and I am sure I can succeed in bringing new projects by using my existing network. Here is why:

Previously, I have worked in a digital marketing company, Numberly, where I was sourcing and consulting the TOP 50 largest companies in Germany, Netherlands and Belgium. Over the course of 6 months, I met with CXOs, Marketing, Product, and Innovation teams of great companies such as L'Oréal, KLM, FedEx, Schneider Electric, FlixBus, and got to understand their struggles and vision. However, more importantly, I learned how to represent my company in a professional standard and manage projects on their behalf.

More recently, I joined Almost Founders, where I am connecting start-up founders with like-minded individuals so they can pool their knowledge and resources in a safe environment. Through this, I am familiar with the start-up environment in the UK, and hope to connect fellow 180 DC Society members with new, disruptive companies, often founded by UCL alumni.
Sum Yeung
Hello! My name is Livia, and I am running for the position of Consulting Director at 180 Degrees Consulting UCL. Ever since joining 180DC in October 2020, I have been able to drive sustainable social change and deliver transformative solutions through two consulting projects, whilst working with incredibly talented, passionate individuals from diverse backgrounds. Together with my past engagements in volunteering and reaching out to 50+ London start-ups, I am confident that my experience in client-acquisition, consulting strategy, and community service would make me an asset to the team as Consulting Director.

My experience and skills:

Market/ industry research
Cold-messaging (e.g. LinkedIn, Hunter.io)
Pitching/ client presentations
Ongoing evaluation and feedback (e.g. surveys, data analysis)
Effective communication
Understanding of the Third Sector (e.g. trends, challenges)

If elected, I will aim to:

Conduct membership surveys to identify the causes and professional skills that you are interested in
Acquire a set of high-quality projects that match your preferences and backgrounds, from an international client base
Provide full support to executives & consultants throughout project cycles (e.g. software, client management, mentorship & advice)
Organise weekly skills workshops (e.g. case study sessions) and seminars with professional consultants

Thank you for reading my manifesto. Feel free to contact me at [email protected]!
Dani Kers
My experience being a Consultant for 180DC has given me the opportunity to understand the society's structure, ethos, and way of working. Being able to learn on the job, aiding a social enterprise under the guidance of the 180DC leadership team has inspired me to pursue the role of Consulting Director.

As Consulting Director, I would aim to maintain the high-quality projects for Consultants to work on, along with increasing the diversity of the pool of potential clients to ensure a dynamism unique to our consulting programmes. I would leverage the client-facing and leadership skills that I have developed via the 180DC programme, and other previous experiences such as being Managing Director of a Young Enterprise company, that ultimately won the Greater Manchester Final while selling reusable straws to tackle plastic pollution. My passion for sustainability, and my belief in the vital role that social enterprises play in our society, means I would be dedicated to my position as Consulting Director for 180DC. Furthermore, I would aim to increase the number of projects, allowing more invaluable opportunities for society members, whilst maintaining the quality of delivery to the clients, through increased training opportunities.

Thank you for your consideration, and feel free to reach out to me with any questions you may have!
