Candidates

Anna Chippendale/ Sam Jones
Hi! We’re Anna and Sam, and we’re running for Arts Officer in the 2020/21 academic year because we are heavily active and enthusiastic members of UCL Arts Societies. Between us, we have been involved in ten shows across four societies (Musical Theatre, Live Music, Jazz and Drama) as both directors and performers, and have served on two committees (Musical Theatre Society and SAVAGE Journal). Sam is also currently the Representative for Performing Arts Societies for the Union, and thus has a pre-existing relationship with the union. We are passionate, dedicated and well-informed members of the Arts community at UCL, which has been a hugely important part of our university experience, and we therefore want to play a role in ensuring that other students have equally fulfilling opportunities within a supportive environment.

Our priorities for the 2020/21 academic year can be categorised as follows:

ZERO TOLERANCE: Zero tolerance for bullying and harassment of any nature in the Arts
COMMUNITY: promoting and strengthening inter-societal relations
INCLUSIVITY: Accessibility and providing opportunities to all Arts members irrespective of their backgrounds
