Why are you standing?:

I am a postgraduate student who is as involved in the UCL student body as any student can be. I’m the deputy managing editor of the Journal of Law and Jurisprudence, a member of the Film Society, Barbell Society, Emperors (American Football), and the Graduate Law Society, amongst others. As a result, I know what it means and what it feels like for a postgraduate student to truly be involved in UCL life, how important it is, and consequently, it is something I deeply want to encourage.

There’s a lot of change that I want to push towards, including some goals carried over from last year, and being your Postgraduate Students’ officer would put me in the perfect position to do these:

* Campaign for better pay and benefits for students who teach

* Improve bursaries and childcare funding for parents and carers

* Encourage participation of postgraduate students in clubs, societies, and activities

* Career advice tailored for postgraduate (and particularly international postgraduate) students

These are goals I take personally, not only because I am currently a postgraduate student, but because I am looking to remain as one for the foreseeable future by transiting to a postgraduate research course.
