Sinem Görücü
Hello all the Stapleton Residents!
I am Sinem Görücü who is currently running to become the hall representative of our lovely residence. As a postgraduate architecture student who previously lived in four different countries, I have been lucky to experience many different cultures and ways of living. So, I give a great importance to cultural diversity and social interaction as well as unity. If I get selected, one of my main goals will be making everybody’s voice heard about every kinds of issues that Stapleton residents are facing.
Until today I have led many national-scale organisations and co-chaired 2 different student clubs. For the last 4 years, I am also working as a national representative of a global design students organisation which is organising many kinds of events all over the World; including workshops, trips, and exhibitions. In years, taking part in all of those organisations have improved my leadership and communication skills. So now, I would like to use them to make the Stapleton a clean, peaceful and lively place for all of us.
Besides those, I should also mention that I have a professional background on board game design which I have realised some research projects and written my masters thesis on it. I strongly believe in the power of the games in terms of enhancing the communication and interaction among people. With that motivation, I am planning to organise regular board game nights with many interesting board game concepts which residents of the Stapleton will have more opportunity to meet each other and unite.
For more information about myself, my vision or the future goals please do not hesitate to contact me through email or even when you see me in the elevator! :)
Anastasios Charalampous
As Hall Rep for Stapleton House I will try to improve the level of living experience for all residents. Below you may find my plan, If I am elected:
Initially, I will ask for a meeting with the presence of everyone living in Stapleton House in order to identify and understand which are the main concerns and difficulties that students face in their daily routine.
In this way I will be able to have a clear agenda of priorities and, thus, be prepared to find ways of promoting this agenda to the competent bodies of Student Union and University.
During the course of the year new issues may come up and I will always be here to listen to what students have to say as well as evaluate together the progress that will be made so far.
I anticipate that being the voice of a multicultural society of students is an extremely challenging experience and I am looking forward to it.

Finally, you can have a say!

I know that many of you have issues with kitchen cleaning, WiFi, water and so on. It is time to have your voice listened and make a change.

I understand that it can be frustrating to deal with those annoying things while you have your study to work on.

The Hall representative is the guy that you can turn to and the hall rep will report your problems to Student's Union and UCL, fighting for your benefits.

I have a specific plan for this: I will set up an individual Wechat account (an email address for those do not use Wechat) which is particularly for collecting your complaints, making sure everyone can be heard and responded.

Vote now to make changes happen!
Danning Li
I am an international student, from China. Since arriving at residence, on 18 September 2019, I have met many international and domestic students, all of whom have been very kind.
I have a great concern for people and enjoy helping fellow students. I can imagine how impactful the role as a Hall Representative can be - being able to listen to the opinions of my fellow students and forwarding YOUR concerns to different bodies. My mission is to represent my fellow student’s views and build a more clean, friendly and comfortable living environment. This is not about me but about all the students living in the Stapleton House, which I not only want to represent but moreover support.
If elected, I assure you that I will try my best to help you in any way I can and address all matters related to your living expereince in halls of residence: from improving your halls facilities to suggesting activities and events. I will be very grateful if you decide to vote for me as Hall Representative. You won't regret it.
Maya Vasishth
Hi Stapleton Hall Residents! My name is Maya and I am running to be your Stapleton Hall Representative because I want to collaborate with you to foster a healthy and inclusive living community. London is a big metropolitan city that can feel crowded and isolating, but at Stapleton House you should feel like a part of a community. If I am elected to serve as Stapleton Hall Representative, I will work to gather your feedback to improve your living experience and plan events that are both inclusive and focused on promoting a better living environment. As an undergraduate student, I served as the Vice President of my university’s Student Union helping to develop more engaging programming on a wide scale and create accessible channels for student feedback. My leadership experience makes me a great candidate to represent your interests to the Student Union and to plan programming to foster a community at Stapleton House. Thank you for reading my manifesto and please do not hesitate to reach out with questions about my platform or if you have ideas for improving Stapleton House. My email is Thanks again!
DaeNia La Rode
Hi, my name is DaeNia La Rodé and I am running for the position of Stapleton House Hall Rep because I know it will be a great way to utilise my previous residential life experience and positively contribute to my living community.

My previous experience gave me the opportunity to promote academic excellence, addressed student needs, and encouraged involvement among residents in a way that supported the mission of my previous university. I was also able to market, develop, and lead student centred programmes to promote social engagement, education, diversity, healthy living, and personal growth.
If elected I will strive to:
• Communicate, correspond & collaborate with on and off-campus offices such as counselling, student activities, campus security, maintenance, to address any concerns residents may have
• Create and develop a positive living environment designed to link community, and residents
• Ensure that students concerns are heard and addressed by the Union

I believe that these objectives will positively impact Stapleton house because as postgraduate students we need our home away from home to be a place where we can relax and unwind from all of our day’s work and research and I can help. Thank you.
