Why are you standing?:

I’d love to make James Lighthill a home away from home for everyone here. I want to organise more frequent hall events to get everyone together and provide opportunities for you to get to know everyone that you’re living with. I want to ensure all events can be enjoyed by as many people as possible so any ideas are welcomed. I think this would be easier if our common room was more open and welcoming perhaps with more outside seating and facilities inside like a ping-pong table to draw people there. I would also like to propose some inter-hall events/competitions like quiz/game nights or sports days (again any ideas would be welcome) to bring all halls together, especially because this hall isn’t near to any others.

I’d make a good representative because I’ve lived in student halls for the last two years at college so I have a good idea of ways to get everyone together and make a place feel more homely when you’re so far away from home. I also used to be Head Girl so am used to dealing with people’s issues, small or big, so I’ll make sure they are all dealt with.
