Bluebell Selley
Howdy neighbour's I'm Bluebell (Blue for short). I'm running for hall rep as I hope to make this accommodation a loving, fun and safe community for us all. I won't make any empty promises so these are a couple of realistic things I want to address if elected:

•Change the rule of 3 in the kitchen to the legal rule of 6. As we are all considered a household in our flat's already, and I think we all deserve to have a meal with the flatmates without security being involved.
•Regarding security, I think having a female security staff member would allow particularly female residents to feel safer.
•Also would love to organise a socially distanced courtyard event. For example, live music from some musical residents. Even some accommodation online socials, so we can all get to know each other.
•And last but not least, Is the noise pollution caused by the construction. It is incredibly loud definitely as we are all working online! So I think there should be a rent reduction as many of us are finding it disturbing our way of learning.

Vote for me to help create a place we can all call home! Xx
Alexia Mihaila
I’m Alexia Mihaila, 1st year Arts and Sciences student, from Romania and I am running as your hall rep! ?

• My Main Goals
- to ensure effective communication between you, the Halls, the Student Union and all residents;
- to focus on your safety, happiness and health (physically and mentally)
making sure you have all you need to feel homely, without settling for less due to the pandemic; (solve the staples-broken fridges, leaks, etc.- while also vocalizing your additional demands)
- organize online and/or in person events (silent parties, movie projections in St. Andrews Garden), taking into account safety restrictions, so that no one feels lonely or left out of the hall-living experience
- accomplish a common dream feature for our accommodation (music room, free/cheaper washing/drying services, cheaper rent)

My ultimate goal is for us to proudly say ‘I am happy with where I live!’

I have been in leadership and organizational positions before, yet what qualifies me most is my motivation; since classes are online and these halls became our home for the next year, I will make sure everything is clockwork, and does indeed feel like home! I hope you will trust me and vote for me! ?
Jasper Chou
Dear all,
It has been an unprecedented difficult year. We’re living a university life where we don’t even need to go to campus. However, we can still live an enjoyable life: having smaller-scale activities, such as Secret Santa, board games, lottery (eg. every fortnight winners get prizes prepared by a hall), etc. When allowed, we’ll definitely have more student activities!

I’ll strive for more perks such as free detergent, board games, PS5 (if wanted)... I’ve looked at some challenging problems mentioned by previous candidates, and will try my best to achieve them, including:
making the laundry machines free
getting rid of broken equipment
and now particularly getting “Covid refunds”

I’d also try to have a platform where we could:
borrow/lend stuff easily
encourage “group studying”, making studying more pleasant
make some money off your skills (e.g if you know how to cut hair, fix a bike...) within the halls
However we need to be aware of some governmental restrictions at this point.

I’ve considered these ideas maturely, and as I was the student president in my high school, you have my words. So please vote for Jasper and let’s continue to improve the LC/FGH Halls, thank you!
Vlad Bacila
Hello, my name is Vlad and I am prepared to improve OUR HALLS for the better, with your help we can make a real change!

Why me? Previously VP of my school and event organiser, organising more than 20 events with 300+ students per party. Therefore the best skills and knowledge to push your ideas forward are AVAILABLE to you with the right voting choice!
With so many restrictions this year, things aren’t great. However, I WILL DELIVER the best experience hall.

PRIORITIES:
BETTER, QUICKER and more efficient maintenance for cleaning and broken appliances
Ensure ACCOUNTABILITY from the accommodation team and consistent guidelines for security to follow
Change the kitchen RULE of 2 in 6
CHRISTMAS EVENTS for those of us who might not be able to go home to keep spirits up and to foster a closer community (secret Santa, candy canes, ugly X-mas sweater day), complete with Christmas decoration throughout the accommodation
Collaborating with brands to SPONSOR us with freebies and deals

I know that there have been some disagreements lately within the accommodation I will do my best in bringing everyone together and foster a closer community even through these difficult times
Jungho Lee
I am Jungho from Korea. I love meeting new people, so as a rep, I will try my best to meet you, and you can tell me what you need or want, and I will be there for you(socially distanced perhaps). I believe that these measures, as set out below, must be introduced for the betterment of both the halls and the community. I would like to focus on facilitating the process, once the restrictions loosen, for the residents to catch up with the social events we so dearly missed.
Extend the closing times of the common rooms. Residents come together in acquiring a projector ready for use in the common room. Provide an easy-to-use booking system for the projector. Remove/replace the green tree sticker outside the window. Set up a bar in the common room
Arrange events which residents of both halls could participate in. Initial ideas include sport events, drinking events, and movie nights. Set up a sports facility(Table Tennis?)
Provide a hand sanitizer with better aroma. Provide more frequent routine checks on the lift that have been reported to malfunction. Respond to complaints about kitchen appliances.
Yours faithfully,
Jungho Lee
Alex Skliros
Hi, I’m Alex and I am running on a program of change.

This pandemic has been a paralysing force in many ways, but it cannot stop us from building a better community in our halls. I have a plan to get us there.

1. For self-isolating flats I would fight for better essential food hampers and a clear playbook to be published that shows what these flats are entitled to and how to get it.

2. I will commit to hosting hour-long virtual town hall meetings on Friday afternoons, where I can answer your questions and concerns.

3. I will push for tougher rules on the conduct of the security staff. The unfair targeting of some flats, the breaking up of legal gatherings will be banned.

4. I will work with the halls team to streamline communication with maintenance so that requests don’t get lost. I will also build up a stockpile of commonly needed parts to reduce the time it takes to fix issues.

5. For the common room, instead of the 9-5 rule, I am proposing a booking system for groups of up to six people.

This way we can build a better community!
Alfie Hall
Vote Alfie Hall for a ‘Hall for All’.

Hey everyone!! We all know that our halls are the best in UCL - the people are so diverse, friendly, and we have a courtyard!! I feel like together we can turn this place into our proper home, with a more inclusive and supportive environment with better communication.

To achieve this, I need your great suggestions and feedback. I promise to listen and raise your concerns (noise, smelly hand sanitiser, bad hoovers) through the appropriate channels to make change that benefits us all. Some of my own ideas include:

-Dinners! - if there are any chefs here, we could put money towards ingredients and have a big feast in the courtyard!
- Organised sport! - the football games in the courtyard were great. WE NEED MORE!
- Sustainability! If the earth dies, so does FGH/LH. Food waste is a big issue that we can all work to tackle. Apps like Olio are getting really popular, but as a minimum we need separate food waste bins!

It’s important that we look after each other here, especially during these lonely COVID times. If anybody needs to talk, I’m happy to meet/zoom and listen.
Abigel David

Stay Positive And Test Negative ;)

Now that the police, the security, the ambulance and the reception have probably given up on us, it’s time to take matters in our own hands. (Perhaps alongside with a 5£ Romio’s pizza).

We have to make the most out of our lockdown, and when this is all over, we will get to know each other without freezing outside in the courtyard, without breaking every rule we swore we wouldn’t, and we will make this the weirdest AND best year ever.

Of course, this can only work if we enjoy living here. Having already been in contact with the reception about several issues, I am fully confident that I will manage to solve any reasonable requests - let that be your flat’s fridge, the common rooms, issues between students (the FGH groupchat did demonstrate some lovely examples of this), or issues with the staff. Im already Year Rep for my course - if they let me represent them so should you!

do dm me if you have any further questions
Your future hall rep Abi
