On 9th May at the O2 Academy in Islington, four finalists took to the stage to perform at the Uni Music league final showdown, a competition designed specifically for unsigned student musicians.

Amongst those four finalists were ‘Rubin’ and his band ‘The Groovy Tuesdays’ who stunned the audience with a breath-taking performance. After the votes were counted and verified, Rubin was crowned this year’s winner and has walked away with a dream prize package consisting of an EP recording deal with Metropolis Studios, the opportunity to perform at the Wilderness Festival, support slots at KOKO, a full PR campaign and professional photography shoots - enough to launch any musician from the unsigned world into the professional music industry.

At the age of just 20, Rubin already started making waves in the music scene across London after countless live performances at some of London finest venues, including Nambucca, Proud and The Borderline.

He blends graceful tones and nuances of folk with the hard hitting rhythms and undeniably infectious grooves that can be found in the more funky, jazzy genres of music to create a wonderfully fresh and compelling sound.

Rubin is without a doubt well on the road to stardom, for more info check out his website:
