The 2017 Student Choice Teaching Awards came to an end last night with our ceremony to hand out the awards. The awards, held jointly with the Provost’s Teaching Awards, were given to those members of staff who received the very best and most outstanding nominations.

The nine awardees can now be viewed via our Student Choice Teaching Awards page, as can all UCL staff nominated for these awards.

Halima Begum, the Students Union’s Education and Campaigns Officer, told attendees at the ceremony:

Leading the panel that chose this evening’s awardees was incredibly difficult. There were so many articulate, passionate and detailed accounts of the transformative impact that UCL staff have had.

It took a good long while to work our way through them, and it was very tempting to give out a lot more awards! But tonight’s awardees truly deserve these awards.

So to our awardees, to all of our nominees, to all UCL staff, and to all of you who have come along to show their appreciation for all of the incredible work that UCL staff do every day – thank you.

The 2017 Student Choice Teaching Awards were the biggest ever, with over 1000 nominations, smashing our previous record of 360. 543 members of UCL staff were nominated overall.
