Name of Event: ‘Pride in Care’: Opening Doors London National Conference 2018

Volunteer Role: Conference Event Volunteer

We are looking to recruit event volunteers to help conference delegates get the most out of our National Conference at University College London. We would like volunteers to:

  • Attend pre-conference introduction to Opening Doors London, on Monday 4 June, 18:00-19:30 at Tavis House
  • Meet at the Conference Reception stall at 08:15 for the pre-conference event briefing
  • Assist organisation of Welcome/Reception area, conference packs, badging of delegates etc
  • Assist arrangement of tables and chairs for main stage and conference workshop rooms
  • Provide ‘meet and greet’ conference welcome and thank you’s on leaving at close of event
  • Assist in staffing entrance and exit doors, reception stand and catering area as required
  • Provide ‘roving mic’ service to delegates with questions to the main platform speakers
  • Facilitate general guidance and orienteering of conference delegates to workshop rooms 
  • Facilitate additional guidance or support for people with disabilities where appropriate
  • Help keep conference to time by signalling time-checks to speakers where appropriate
  • Assist training team in maintaining a safe, tidy and well organised event throughout the event
  • Assist training team remove signage, strike reception and pack materials at the end of event
