Saturday 16 June 201800.00

Name of Event: Make Moves

Volunteer Role: Remember the nerve-wracking first day of secondary school? Make Moves is an exciting project that introduces year 6 students transitioning to secondary school to their new classmates through an action-packed day of outward bound activities. The day is supported by older students (Aged 13) at their new school, who assist in leading activities and conduct a Q&A about what it’s like being a secondary school student.

As a volunteer, you will support the older students as they facilitate activities such as rock climbing, canoeing, archery, and caving. In order to do this you will receive training on how to work with young people, including safeguarding and child protection. (And yes you will get to have a go doing all the activities yourself!)

When: June 18, 19, 20, 21, 25, 26 or 27 June, with a compulsory training day on 16 June. Volunteers can sign up for as many days as they like.

Where: Mile End Urban Adventure Base, 150 Burdett Road, London, E3 4JT

Volunteer places: 20
