Volunteer Role: Frankenstein Engagement Volunteer

What you will be doing:
• Perform fictional stories to visitors that cover the use of science and technology to create life
• Engage visitors with the event by being knowledgeable about the programme and activities
• Take care of your personal health and safety and that of others. Comply with the Science Museum Group H&S Policies, risk assessments and safe systems of work and report any health and safety concerns.

What you bring to the team:

You will definitely …
• Feel comfortable performing in front of small groups of visitors on your own
• Be friendly and happy to approach visitors
• Have a passion for interacting and engaging with the public.

It would be good if you …
• Have experience of story-telling or performing
• Have an enthusiastic and dedicated approach to volunteering
• Have some foreign language skills
• Have an interest in the Frankenstein story

- To volunteer in this role, you must be 18 or over and eligible to volunteer in the UK. Unfortunately, SMG is unable to act as a sponsor organisation if you do not have the appropriate visa.
- This role is subject to a Disclosure Scotland basic criminal record check.
- Travel expenses reimbursed up to £12 per day against receipts.

When:The festival will cover the Lates event on 28 March 2018 and continue during the day between Tuesday 3 April and Sunday 8 April 2018. We would love it if volunteers could commit to at least 2 days during the festival period. This volunteer role is based around creative and rehearsal sessions, that will take place over some weekday afternoons from late
February, and performances over the course of the festival. The exact days of the week will be chosen to accommodate the majority of the volunteers closer to the event.
