SCREENINGS VENUE FOR SUNDAY (from 7pm): Gustave Tuck LT, Wilkins Building
Screenings event open to everyone, no need to be participating in the challenge!

Our 48-Hour Film Challenge returns at the very end of term this June to close off the academic year! The aim is to write, shoot and edit a film within 48 hours, with limited crew, equipment, resources and, of course, time.

We're looking for several teams, comprising between 4 and 6 people, to compete (don’t worry if you haven’t got a complete team yet – sign yourself up anyway and we will assign you to a team by Friday). The film will have to include a specific line of dialogue and a specific prop, to be announced on Friday night. All footage must be shot and edited during the 48 hours.

The challenge will take place over 3 days. It will start at 7pm on Friday at the FilmSoc Studio, where instructions and certain constraints will be given. The teams will then have until 7pm on Sunday to complete the film, when they will return to UCL and the films will be screened at the iconic Gustave Tuck LT and judged by a small panel. Of course, there will be prizes for winners... and free popcorn for everyone!

The challenge is not about making the ‘best-looking’ film - you will NOT be able to rent out the BlackMagic 4K for example, or any lights - but we will make sure that all teams have a DSLR, a tripod and a microphone.

There is absolutely NO FILMMAKING EXPERIENCE REQUIRED – only enthusiasm and passion for film!

Think any of this sounds fun? Then join us for this adrenaline-packed, sleepless, mad and creative weekend! We look forward to seeing as many of you as possible!
