UCLUNA, together with the United Nations Association Youth Platform of the United Kingdom (UNA-YP UK) is hosting an online panel discussion on climate change with particular reference to gender, geographic, and socio-economic inequalities, discussing the impact of climate change on the world’s most vulnerable.

This discussion will focus on the varied racial and economic inequities within each region and state, but also on a global level, as well as how these inequities can be overcome to achieve climate justice.

We are honoured to host five esteemed speakers for this event:

Mrs. Mary Robinson is the Chair of the Elders and is the former President of Ireland and former UN High Commissioner for Human Rights.

Ms. Laurence Tubiana is the CEO of the European Climate Foundation and served as France’s Climate Change Ambassador and Special Representative for the 2015 COP21 Climate Change Conference in Paris, and is a key architect of the resulting Paris Agreement. 

Dr. Amani Abou-Zeid is the African Union Commissioner for Infrastructure and Energy, and is an international development expert who has served Africa in various international organisations.

Ms. Kavita Naidu is an international human rights lawyer who is the Climate Justice Programme Officer at the Asia Pacific Forum on Women, Law and Development.  

Ms. Aneesa Khan is the Executive Director at SustainUS, a youth-led advocacy group empowering youth to advance justice and sustainability.
