Are you interested in a career in engineering? Or perhaps you'd like to be inspired by a woman who has broken through the 'glass ceiling' and is dedicated to helping others do the same?

Then come along to our inspiring talk from Dr Hayaatun Sillem, CEO of the Royal Academy of Engineering, the UK's national academy for engineering, hosted in conjunction with UCL Engineering Society and UCL Women's Engineering Society.

Dr Hayaatum Sillem is undoubtably one of the most influential women in engineering today, having co-founded the Royal Academy of Engineering Enterprise Hub, being appointed Fellow of the Institution of Engineering and Technology and becoming CEO of the Royal Academy of Engineering. Dr Sillem was also shortlisted for Computer Weekly's 50 'Most Influential Women in UK Tech'.

Dr Sillem is very passionate about getting women into STEM. She hosted the 10th Young Arab Women Leaders STEM conference in London in December 2017 and is a champion of the Government's Year of Engineering, looking to increase diversity amongst the UK's engineering workforce through the campaign 'This is Engineering'.

Dr Hayaatun Sillem will give us an insight into her career path and research, as well as how she came to where she is today.

The event will consist of a 40 minute talk, followed by a 20 minute Q&A session.

We look forward to seeing you there!
